Drewling Samantics
Drew and Sam are actors. They haven’t won any Academy Awards yet, and neither of them is in line to be the new James Bond (sorry Sam), but between them they do have over half a century’s worth of experience in the industry. Many months ago a combination of boredom, significantly reduced work opportunities (thanks pandemic!) and overactive and under-stimulated imaginations inspired them to create a podcast, and somehow they’re still at it. Join the Drewling Samantics chaps every Sunday (or download and listen later) as they give an entertaining insight into how their industry works - from modelling to voiceover, theatre to film, and television to streamed media, the gents talk about all areas of performance artistry, giving an insider view that is sometimes humorous, often eye-opening or poignant, and at times just downright strange! With regular guest appearances and the odd special ‘on location’ segment, Drewling Samantics brings something unique and fresh to the world of podcasts from two normal blokes, working in a rather abnormal industry.

Your favourite Sunday Podcast is steaming ahead, and today Drew and Sam bring us their second episode, and first guest, of Season Sixteen.
A recurring colleague of both our podcasting pair, and, despite even having worked with the two of them together on occasion, strangely still willing to appear on the show with them, the brilliant Ian Archdeacon leaps onto our screens and into our ears from Drewling Samantics HQ!
The chaps often talk about talented and versatile performers, and Ian absolutely epitomises both those attributes, but beyond that is also incredibly hardworking and well versed in many spheres of the industry - certainly not a man to turn down a good opportunity! He spreads himself across almost all areas of the business, with experience in, but far from limited to: theatre tours, pantomime, site specific and interactive shows, and even wrangling dinosaurs (tune in to find out more about that!)! Ian travels the length and breadth of the country to do the work he loves, clocking up thousands of miles every year but relishing in every moment.
Ian is a successful product and advocate of learning on the job, dedication and graft. And if that wasn’t enough, he works for a co-operative agency, which he explains the ins and outs of, so is equally supportive of other actors’ careers. Without doubt one of the nicest people you could wish to meet or work with, so make sure you get involved now and, like the Drewling Samantics boys, enjoy sharing some quality time with Ian.
