Drewling Samantics
Drew and Sam are actors. They haven’t won any Academy Awards yet, and neither of them is in line to be the new James Bond (sorry Sam), but between them they do have over half a century’s worth of experience in the industry. Many months ago a combination of boredom, significantly reduced work opportunities (thanks pandemic!) and overactive and under-stimulated imaginations inspired them to create a podcast, and somehow they’re still at it. Join the Drewling Samantics chaps every Sunday (or download and listen later) as they give an entertaining insight into how their industry works - from modelling to voiceover, theatre to film, and television to streamed media, the gents talk about all areas of performance artistry, giving an insider view that is sometimes humorous, often eye-opening or poignant, and at times just downright strange! With regular guest appearances and the odd special ‘on location’ segment, Drewling Samantics brings something unique and fresh to the world of podcasts from two normal blokes, working in a rather abnormal industry.

Anarchy in the Stalls of London
To paraphrase the late, great Tina Turner, Drewling Samantics audiences are simply the best! Drew and Sam readily admit that without their wonderful listeners and viewers there would be no point them getting together every week for a chat - brilliant guests or not! And that extend far beyond this humble little podcast, audiences are vital to the arts in general, as, among other things, they pay their money, give their opinions, and drive the fads, fashions and demands of the entertainment industry. Nearly all of the time they are a joy and the very reason creatives are driven to create.
However…!
There are those odd (fortunately fairly rare) occasions where audience members don’t always behave as expected, or choose not to respond in the way desired at a particular production. This week the boys discuss some recent news stories concerning show attendees, throw in a few of their own experiences of odd spectator behaviour, and debate what should be expected of patrons and equally what they in turn should expect from the events they attend.
We are all audience members in one way or another so this subject is relevant to all, and it is sure to generate more chat between audiences of all kinds. Tune in now and as always the chaps encourage everyone to get involved, however they feel they can.
